Welcome to the Good Truck’s very own blog…

When I started this whole thing back in May I was working from a blog which had somewhat of a personal twist called From Scratch, but now that the taco biz is actually coming into fruition it was decidedly time to create a space for the Good Truck Only. Welcome to it!

I continue to be moved, motivated, curious and generally psyched by the response from all of you, encouraging me to go for it and get this thing started. THANK YOU!

FIrst and foremost I want to announce that (thank goodness!) The Good Truck has become a two person gig… that is, the lovely Lily Aceto (art director, tortilla maker, taco chef extraordinaire) will be the other half of this nomadic taco selling outfit. She hopped on board and wow am I lucky. Not only does she make great food and add an element of artistic flare that I personally can not muster, but she makes me laugh and together in the kitchen we have a blast.

The second exciting new development is that we have purchased the vehicle  from which we will be serving the world (or at least our little dot here in upstate NY) our very own brand of asian-mexican-mandy-lily-local-seasonal-fusion tacos. Though we claim no authenticity to any particular cuisine, we do guarantee that our menu will feature fresh, sustainable and delicious ingredients.

For us the next few weeks promise to be full of recipe tweaking, tortilla pressing and lots of trial runs. Meanwhile we will be outfitting our sweet new trailer and trying to sell my old benz. for a small truck that will pull the taco wagon. I hope you all will follow us, as many of you have so far, as this thing gets rolling. Stay tuned!
